Hi! We are the Missoula Tempo, a temporary home for independent arts and entertainment journalism in Missoula, Montana. 

We accept pitches and completed pieces about all things related to the local arts scene, including: 

• Arts & entertainment news and features. 
• Profiles of local artists or arts-related organizations. 
• Reviews of movies, books, and music that have a local connection (for example, the artist lives here, grew up here, or is visiting for an upcoming event). 
• Opinion pieces related to the local arts scene. 
• First-person pieces by artists with a Missoula connection. 

We would encourage writers to be local to Missoula/Montana, or to have a local tie. 

We are looking for pieces generally between 300-1200 words, though we could be talked into just about anything if it's good. 

We don't generally want people promoting themselves or their own brands/promotions, and we generally don't want people writing about people that they have a significant relationship with. 

If you're pitching us an idea and not a completed piece, write a few sentences sharing the vision to your piece, and please link to a writing sample or two. 

We are a fully volunteer operation that exists only until a new independent arts publication exists again in Missoula. We cannot pay for pieces (we don't get paid, either) and we discourage writers from "donating" more than one piece a month -- we greatly appreciate it, but we also don't want you writing too many free words for anyone.
